Our Protection Policy

Formosa Plastics Group attaches importance to the concept of "circular economy," and strives to strike a balance between industrial development and the environment. FPG believes that environmental protection and industrial development are equally important. By ensuring product safety and the safety of the employees, contractors, factories and communities, FPG takes on its social responsibility, which is also a part of its competitive strength.

For instance, the location where FPG's largest production base is -- Mailiao, Yunlin -- had only limited agriculture production and fish farms. Moreover, the groundwater overuse caused the ground to sink and whenever there was heavy rain, the place became flooded. As a result, the residents continued to move out. Today, the number of registered for-profit businesses in Mailiao has tripled. Hotels, restaurants, supermarkets, and convenience stores have opened one after another, and banks have also been established. The place has become the most prosperous and wealthy township along the coast of Yunlin and the only town with a stable and growing population.

At the Mailiao Harbor, there are even various colorful corals and tropical fish with dolphins appearing occasionally, creating a lively scene. FPG's culture of safety, health, and environmental protection is not only present within the organization, but also reflected in its effort to seek balance between industrial development and the environmental.
