Establish own reliable land and sea transportation network

In order to meet the transportation needs of each production location, FPG has established two land freight companies: Formosa Plastics Transport Corporation and Formosa Petrochemical Transportation Corporation, which are responsible for the transportation of various raw materials. There are currently 439 vehicles. In addition, in order to keep to the delivery schedule and to meet the import and export needs of oil products, petrochemical raw materials and coal for power plants, a chemical fleet has been established while the scale of the sea freight fleet has been expanded. At present, there are a total of 20 bulk carriers weighing 37,000-205,000 tons, 8 crude oil tankers weighing 280,000 to 300,000 tons, 11 petrochemical tankers, 5 naphtha and product tankers, 3 chemical tankers of 35,000 tons, 1 container ship, and 2 liquefied petroleum gas tankers. In total, FPG has a total of 50 self-owned vessels.

To meet the import and export needs of the Mailiao Industrial Zone, the government opened the Mailiao Industrial Harbor in 2002. Mailiao Harbor is Taiwan's first industrial harbor built with private investment. It covers an area of 476 hectares. The fairway is 24 meters deep at mid-tide, allowing vessels weighing 300,000 tons to enter and exit. It is the deepest harbor in Taiwan. The annual cargo throughput reaches 70 million tons (second only to Kaohsiung Harbor). Mailiao Harbor has made the vast neighboring area become the hinterland, bringing convenient sea transportation to Yunlin and facilitating the development of industries as well as the local community.

Provide safe, reliable and comfortable European commercial cars as a great support for businesses

According to Taiwan's air quality index, traffic is the major source of pollution that causes PM 2.5 particles. In order to reverse the image of high fuel consumption and high exhaust emissions from heavy vehicles, the company introduced DAF heavy vehicles to Taiwan, which is one of the top three European commercial vehicle brands. In 2006, FPG further launched the assembly production line and sales with the "DAF Trucks", as well as its subsidiary "Formosa Automobile Corporation" as the main parts of the distribution system and after-sales service in Taiwan. Currently, there are 6 sales centers and 34 maintenance locations in Taiwan. DAF Trucks complies with the Euro 6/VI emission standards. The innovative engines can reduce CO2 emissions and fuel consumption (Saving fuel around 10%~14% than Euro-5/V), helping customers reduce operating and maintenance costs. As of 2021, the market share had reached 20.5%, ranking the first in Taiwan's tractor heavy duty market.

Energy-saving, environmentally friendly, stable and long-lasting, Asia's first lithium iron vehicle starter battery that has passed IEC international standards.

In response to the world's demand for green energy, FPG established a power battery team in 2012 to develop automotive smart batteries and other related products with lithium iron phosphate batteries. Through integrating the professional technical capabilities of various departments within the conglomerate, FPG has successfully developed "Formosa LFPO Smart Power." All the materials of the batteries come from FPG companies. Officially launched in Taiwan in the second half of 2013, the batteries passed the safety certification of the third-party organization Intertek and are in compliance with UN 38.3 United Nations regulations on the transportation of lithium batteries, CB/CE EU safety requirements, and RoHS regulations. FPG has become the first manufacturer of lithium iron vehicle starter batteries in Asia to have passed the IEC international standards. The current scope of application has been extended to the "starter battery" for starting and stopping the car, golf carts, forklifts, electric trucks (transport trucks for fruit and vegetable markets), "power batteries" for unmanned trucks, and "energy storage batteries" for home use, factories, and public lighting.

Vehicles

In the early stage, Formosa Plastics Transport Corporation served as an agent for selling Dutch DAF heavy vehicles in Taiwan. It began to assemble and produce the trucks in Taiwan in 2013, and used the " DAF Trucks" brand and its subsidiary Formosa Automobile Corporation as the main parts of Taiwan's distribution system and after-sales services.

Car Batteries

FPG lithium iron phosphate car starter batteries are the first lithium iron car starter batteries in Asia to have passed the IEC international standards. They save energy, prevent overcharging and over-discharging of voltage, prevent electrical fires, comply with RoHS regulations on hazardous substances, and have high rate discharge and stable output. Also, it the power is only supplied in the second stage (the car will still start even if your forget to turn off the light); the life span is 5 times as much as lead-acid batteries.
